XDS Astana Team rider Matteo Malucelli outsprinted his rivals to claim victory on Stage 4 of the AlUla Tour. It was Malucelli’s first race of the 2026 season and his first win of the year.The fourth stage of the race with the distance of 173.4 kilometers started in Winter Park and finished in Hegra with an expected bunch sprint. Malucelli started his sprint from behind, gaining positions and taking the win in the final meters.<blockquote>“After the last corner I was a bit in the back, but I was right behind Milan and tried to stay on his wheel. It turned out to be the best choice. The team worked really well today, the headwind was crazy. We tried to stay together, and Federov and Bettiol gave me great support in the final. I’m very happy to beat such a strong sprinter as Milan today. For the team, it’s already the second victory of the season, and it has only just begun. AlUla Tour. Malucelli wins Stage 4

Scaroni attacked on the final climb of the day, Alto de Garbí, together with Antonio Tiberi and Diego Pescador. The leaders managed to gain a small advantage at the summit and extended it on the descent. In the end, Scaroni proved to be the strongest in the finishing sprint.<blockquote><p style="-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;caret-color:rgb(0, 0, 0);color:rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:Aptos, sans-serif;font-size:medium;font-style:normal;font-variant-caps:normal;font-weight:400;letter-spacing:normal;line-height:18.4px;margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;orphans:auto;text-align:start;text-decoration:none;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;widows:auto;word-spacing:0px;">“First of all, I would like to thank the team and all the guys, without whom today’s success would not have been possible. My teammates did an incredible job from the very first kilometers, so this victory belongs to all of us. Haoyu Su, Nicola Conci and Thomas Silva worked extremely hard in the first half of the race, allowing us to keep everything under control. On the second climb, a few riders launched a dangerous attack, but I didn’t respond immediately and waited for my teammates. After the summit, Diego Ulissi and Clément Champoussin moved to the front and closed the gap. At the start of the final climb, Lorenzo Fortunato went to the front and set an incredible pace, after which I attacked from his wheel. Tiberi and Pescador followed me, and in the end, we managed to get away. There was a strong headwind at the top and on the descent, it wasn’t easy, but we managed to hold our advantage. In the finale, everyone played their cards – I knew that it was crucial to enter the final corner in first position, so I launched my sprint early, gave everything I had, took the lead and after the corner did everything possible to stay in front.
